On this anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death I was watching John Landis discussing having Joe Jackson removed from the set when he was filming and how it was at Michael’s behest. That brought back the memory of when I was asked to meet Michael to discuss managing him. I was told that Michael was leaving CBS and I should meet with him..he was holed up in a Manhattan hotel and I was told that he was beaten up by his father and looked bad. I was told a story as to why his father beat him but the bottom line is that I was not privy to what happened and will not relate a third party tale even though it would justify Michael’s request. I passed and Frank Dileo left Epic to become his manager at the time.
